Scoot offers a sneak peek into its inflight entertainment guide ScooTV and menu EAT!
15 May 2012, Singapore – Scoot, Singapore’s newest airline, today revealed the inflight entertainment and food & beverage options that will be available onboard its flights, which commence on 4 June, to Sydney, followed by the Gold Coast a week later on 12 June 2012.
“Scoot is all about empowerment. Our unashamed focus on being low cost empowers more people to travel, and travel farther, than ever before. Our service philosophy is underpinned by the belief that guests shouldn’t subsidise the choices of others, and empowers them to select only the frills they really value,” said Campbell Wilson, Scoot’s CEO. “We’re delighted to now reveal more details of the frills we’ll offer.”
Eat!
Scoot’s hot meal selections include briyani rice (Indian spiced Basmati rice served with chicken), soya sauce chicken rice, and beef lasagne. All meals on board Scoot flights are suitable for Muslim guests and vegetarian options such as vegetarian lasagne and cheesy mushroom Panini are also available. Guests can choose to add a drink and dessert to make it a ComboMeal which will cost less than buying them separately. Gourmet sandwiches, cup noodles, snacks, hot and cold drinks will also available for sale on board. Icing on the cake? Ben and Jerry’s ice cream will be available too, so nothing’s going to stop those craving for a Root Beer float to dunk it in!
View!
Scoot’s inflight entertainment will be via iPads, preloaded with a selection of popular films and television shows alongside favourite classics, music, games and more! This will be augmented, later in the year by an onboard wireless system which will allow guests to access streaming content from an onboard library via their own personal devices.
iPads will be available for rent onboard and, once available, wireless access will be on a pay-per-flight basis. This wireless access will be included in the ScootBiz fare and, in the interim, ScootBiz guests will be provided iPads free of charge.
