Scoot has, effective from 14 May 2012, changed its flight designator code to TZ. This replaces the previously-assigned code, OQ.
The change to TZ is at the request of IATA, the organisation that controls the assignment of airline flight designator codes, after IATA encountered unforeseen technicalities with the previously-assigned code.
The change of designator from OQ to TZ has no impact on Scoot’s guests who have previously booked flights bearing an OQ code. Scoot will be updating booking records and, over the next few days, guests will be sent a new copy of their itinerary reflecting the TZ designator. Customers presenting for check-in with an itinerary showing the old designator will still be accepted as normal.
All other aspects of the booking, including flight departure and arrival times, will remain unchanged, unless notified separately by Scoot.
No action is required on the part of guests, unless they have advised flight details to external parties such as travel insurers, airport transfer companies or meeters and greeters. These guests may wish to update these parties the change in designator from OQ to TZ.
Meanwhile, tickets to Scoot’s destinations – Sydney, Gold Coast, Tianjin and Bangkok – are available for booking at www.flyscoot.com or through the call centre at +65 3158 3388 (Singapore); +61 (0)2 8520 1888 (Australia); 400 120 3055 (China), and +66 2105 5754 (Thailand).
