3 October 2012, Singapore – Scoot, Singapore’s newest low cost carrier, today announced its launch airfares from Singapore to Tokyo (via Taipei). And back, of course.

From 29 October 2012, Scoot will be the first and only low cost carrier to operate daily between Singapore Changi Airport and Tokyo’s Narita International Airport, bringing great fares, empowerment and Scootitude to Japan.

Said Campbell Wilson, Scoot’s CEO, “Scoot’s all about new experiences, fun and quirkiness. And there’s no destination on earth more unique, fun and quirky than Tokyo! From the vibrancy of Shinjuku to the peace of Meiji-jingu, the tradition of Asakusa to the weird and wacky of Harajuku or Akihabara. Food, fashion, fun – Tokyo, my favourite place to visit, is absolutely a must-see.”

Scoot’s service to Tokyo will operate via Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport – and the only low-cost link between these two airports.

“Scoot is delighted to be linking Singapore, Taipei and Tokyo with a whole new travel experience and, with such great fares and the most spacious economy seats of any low cost airline, there’s never been a better time to get outta here and Scoot,” added Campbell.

In the lead-up to today’s release of fares, more than 60,000 people took part in a Facebook campaign in which more than $100,000 worth of travel vouchers and free flights to Tokyo for an entire year are to be given away! The campaign will end at 11.59pm (Singapore time) today. To take part in Scoot’s future promotions and get advance notice of special fares, “like” us on Facebook at or sign up to our newsletter at
