Connecting at Singapore Changi Airport

Your handy guide to ensure there are no tears or fears when connecting at Changi Airport:

1. Always make sure you have enough time between connecting flights

At least two hours is recommended. If you haven’t purchased Scoot-Thru*, you will need to clear arrival immigration, collect any checked baggage , then proceed to the terminal of your connecting airline to check-in for your next flight before they close their check-in counters. Once you have your new boarding pass, you'll have to clear departure immigration to board your flight.

Scoot-Thru* saves you the hassle of going through the above, allowing you to relax in the transit area between flights and saving time. It's cheapest to pre-purchase Scoot-Thru on when you book your flights or via Manage My Booking!

2. Always make sure you know which terminal your connecting flight is operating from

All Scoot and Tigerair flights operate from Terminal 2 and have check-in counters at Rows 10-12. If you are connecting to other airlines, note that Changi Airport has 3 terminals and that it takes at least 10mins to travel between them. Find out which terminal your airline is operating from.

3. Always know where you gotta go!

This is a big one. Aside from knowing which terminal to go to, you'll need to know how to get there! Check out this super-helpful interactive map of Changi Airport to plan for your transit.

4. Always ensure you have the right travel documents

Unless you have Scoot-Thru or seamless transfers with our eligible partner airlines, you will need to pass through Arrival Immigration - with a valid visa (depending on your passport). You will not be able to board your flight if you do not have the necessary documents.

5. Plan your flight ahead of time

To avoid hunger, boredom or restlessness, pre-purchase your meals, inflight Wi-Fi or sleep essentials on your flight. Simply go to Scoot’s Manage My Booking.

6. Know your fares and fees

Don’t get caught with your pants down. Even when you have a connecting journey with two different airlines in a single booking, you may need to pay separate excess baggage fees for each flight. Check out our baggage rates and use Scoot’s Manage My Booking feature to add those extra kilos without being slapped with extra fees at the airport.

7. Protect yourself!

Neither Scoot nor our partner airlines will be responsible for any expenses you incur as a result of a missed connection. So to guarantee your trip goes smoothly, always ensure that you have ScootProtect or other travel insurance to cover your entire journey.
